Articulating Solar Array – Syracuse University
For CBD Companies and Syracuse University, XCEED engineered an articulating solar array at the Intermodal Transit Facility. The initial concept featured a fully custom ball-screw mechanism for solar tracking—innovative but untested, costly, and time-sensitive. Working within the project’s tight timeline, XCEED re-engineered the concept using a high-capacity, off-the-shelf actuator capable of 10 tons of force and 6 feet of travel. The re-design:
